وأن الماضي المضموم العين لا يأتي مضارعه إلا مضموم العين أيضا فهذه ستة أوجه وردت مستعملة بكثرة في مضارع الفعل الثلاثي وبعضها أكثر استعمالا من بعض الوجه الأول فعل يفعل بفتح عين الماضي وكسر عين المضارع ويجيء متعديا نحو ضربه يضربه ورماه يرميه وباعه يبيعه ولازما نحو جلس يجلس وهو مقيس مطرد في واوي الفاء نحو وعد يعد ووصف يصف ووجب يجب.

I do believe that مقيس here means قياسي which means regular and the rule is applicable to it; not شاذ irregular. مطرد means that this rule applies to all verbs whose faa (the first letter in its root) is the letter of Waw )و(
