House of God + House of Princes Explanation: W hen a person begins to read or to study material from or about the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society (The Jehovah's Witnesses), it becomes apparent that the Society has a language all it's own with terms that each have their own definitions. It is not an exaggeration to say that JWs read the Bible with Watchtower glasses! Since the Watchtower Society interprets all of the Bible for JWs and demands total allegiance to it's definitions of words, the JW will be speaking a different language than the Christian. Therefore, in order to be able to comprehend what the JW is saying, one must understand the definitions of terms which the JW has accepted. (www.witnessinc.com/Topics/terms/terms.htm ) "Beth-Sarim" means "House of the Princes". It was built in 1925 for the 'imminent return' prophesied of David, Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jepthae, Joseph, Samuel and other 'faithful men of old' so they had somewhere to live when carrying out the 'battle strategy' of the forthcoming prophesied Armageddon. Although it is strongly advertised by the Watchtower society as being built specifically for those mentioned above, in actual fact when the deeds are read (reproduced seperately - follow link at bottom of page - it explicitly states that the house was built for the use of Joseph Rutherford - then Watchtower president, without whose authority the prophecy would not have been issued, or the building undertaken - until they returned. It may also be noted that, during the great depression of the 1930's, Joseph Rutherford was living in a $75,000 luxury palace! (www.ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/christianzone/beth-sa... ) It's a mixture of two terms, Beth+El=House of God Beth+Sarim=House of Princes Beth Sarim: "House of Princes"--A mansion built in 1929 in San Diego, CA to await the soon-return of many Old Testament notables. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, etc. Bethel : "House of God". The world headquarters home for JWs in Brooklyn, New York. Reference: http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/christianzone/beth-... |
