Bengali term or phrase: A.F.M.
I'm sorry to intrude. I'm translating an official certificate from Bangladesh. I don't actually need a translation into Bengali but possibly an explanation of some acronyms in English and I thought that a mother-tongue translator could help me.

It is an official stamp on a certificate.
The stamp reads: (signature: A.F.M. NAME SURNAME)
A.F.M. NAME SURNAME
CHAIRMAN
XXX UNION COUNCIL
NAME OF DISTRICT, BANGLADESH

Any help out there?
Thanks a million.

a.f.m. (Abul Fazal Mohammad)
Explanation:
This is actually the abbreviation of the names of a person. For example, It may be "Abul Fazal Mohammad". It may be anything like "A***" "F****" "M*****". As the person did not mention the full name and only used the abbreviation, it would be best to keep the name as is: A.F.M.

We have no way to guess what is the full name, only the concerned person can cofirm what is his full name (that is abbreviated as A.F.M.). In Bengali this abbreviated name is usually expressed as: আ.ফ.ম.

Thank you so much, Saleh. What an epiphany. I suppose the same would apply to Md. (Mahmud or Muhammad): could you confirm that? Would you leave it as Md. too? Also, could you be so kind as to read my other question on district names? Thanks ever so much. Irene
