A ako takvih dečaka ne bi moglo biti koliko je potrebno iz neprijateljskih zemalja, onda car udara namet na sva sela i varošice, a hrišćani oni koje ima u svojim državama daju izvestan danak u krvi, tako da iz svakog sela moraju dati caru izvestan broj dečaka. I te takve dečake nazivaju ojlik, a one pak koje uzimaju iz neprijateljskih zemalja nazivaju pendik. A ovi ojlici imaju tu slobodu da po svojoj smrti mogu stvari i imanje svoje ustupiti i dati kome hoće, što pendicima nije dopušteno da čine, već sve njihovo posle smrti uzimaju za cara
