Catalan term

"gropes"

Catalan to English Other

I know what 'gropa' means normally, and have discovered that 'gropes' can be 'cavalls muntats per homes i dones abillats amb indumentària tradicional, donen pas als clarins que anuncien la presència del Pregoner', but I am not sure if they are referring to the horses or the people here. Any suggestions on how to translate 'gropes'? The text is about photos of traditional dress in the Valencia area.

Many thanks in advance.
