Explanation:
Hi ha una tendencia al català de repetir una series d'adjectius que efectivament son sinonimsdel mateix paraula. Aquest "estil" - si soc generos - és poc acceptable a l'anglès.

Aleshores aquí el que va dir el autor és que estem parlant d'un jove que a 30 anys té la confiança de produïr feina que val la pena posar al public.

En anglès jo treuría unes de aquests adjectius.

Com: "At thirty his steps were now confident and assured, those of a young man who knew where he was heading."

Afegint "firm" no és afegir res a la frase en termes de comunicacio. Llistes de'adjectius irriten molts lecotr anglesos, perque no estan acostumbrats a llegir-les.
