Catalan term or phrase: comida de pronunciación

This refers to a corrupt mayor - what is the significance of a "comida de pronunciación "?

thanks in advance

English translation:instigation speech
Explanation:
Hola again. Reading the text I came to the conclusion that this our favorite author is actually meaning "comida de pronunciamiento". So the big fat buddy is actually entertaining his mates in order to get their support (what Aznar and co. do these days to get votes), therefore "se pronuncia", he states his intentions to the guys: I've the power (therefore food and drink and whatever you want), be by my side against those commies...Not quite an uprising but nearly there. It's really, I believe, a "discurso", "comida" is an euphemism, the excuse for the speech, and the goal is to instigate the guys against the danger represented by the Union and the strike. Hope it helps, chao :-)

Explanation:
He ate a substantial meal.
gorge-To devour greedily. An instance of gluttonous eating.
"Comida de pronunciación," is what we call "to pig out on food." When someone makes a spectale on themselves in public by pigging out on food and people talk about it afterwards.

Hope this helps.

"Feast of Utterance"

Explanation:
Holy Thursday is, of course, the day of the Last Supper, at which Christ instituted the sacrament of the Eucharist (i.e., Holy Communion). "Utterance" is the theological term given to his words: "This is my body.... this is my blood...."

So your sleazy pol is not only disreputable -- he's also something of a blasphemer!

Cheers,
