Catalan term or phrase: absis
Els absis, un d’ells mutilat el 1725, són d’una bellesa especial per la protecció del seu aparell i tècnica constructiva.

Just top confirm that absis is in fact 'apse'? I would also like a translation to give me an alternative insight to the entire sentence

Thanks.

Explanation:
Draft: The apses, one of which was mutilated in 1725, are especially beautiful for the [] of their bond and construction technique.

I don't know what "protecció" means here. "Bond", as you may have to explain, is the arrangement of the pieces (bricks, stones, ...) making up a wall.
