Catalan term or phrase: arc adovellat

-GDLC

voussoir: "one of the stones which form part of an arch or a vault, usually having the sides slightly inclined towards each other .... Hence 'voussoired', constructed with voussoirs."
-OED

Now if you're thinking the term isn't gaire específic, com que hi ha més de quatre arcs que hi estan construïdes, you're right.

round arch

Explanation:
Dear Ailish,

just the same as arc de mig punt. Very easy sort of arch. I looked on art dictionaries to make sure.

Hope it helps!

lobed arch

Explanation:
Dear Ailish,

I may be wrong with the above. If your arch has "cuñas" in it, visible "blocks" around the circle of the arch, then it is a lobed arch.

Hope it helps, Flavio

arch with voussoirs

Explanation:
"dovella" is voussoir, one of the wedge-shaped blocks of stone which go to form an arch, so the translation has to have this idea in it.

I agree with Jon in all his definitions, but don't like the sound of "voussoired arch" - too much rhyming going on: hence my version.

But ya pays your money and ya takes ya pick...
