How are places assigned?
Places are assigned based on the following criteria (in this order):

It's really hard to render this, and I'm wondering what relevance there is to foreign students (which in general is who'll be reading my translation).

Explanation:
Timothy, I didn't go through the British school system, so this question may not be directed to me. From that outsider's perspective, it seems you may be specifying things more than the original does. I have little idea as to what a "branca d'accès concordant" may be, but might it not be *any* academic experience up to that point? The point is, the author says nothing of secondary studies. Do you think they may be going out of their way to leave it open to non-conventional means/paths (branques) of admission (accés) that may be deemed appropriate (concordant) by UAB following evaluation? I'd definitely go for a sidebar with the client on this one. Good luck. And please post whatever decision you eventually go for on this mindbender. Pat
