Catalan term or phrase:tractament deplectiu
Hello, this term is in a hospital discharge of a patient with heart failure and background kidney failure. He/she was admitted with worseing symptoms of heart failure adter stopping diuretics.
"es decideix ingrés per tractament i control, s’instaura tractament deplectiu, es retiren ARA II, per hiperkalemia..."
I have found a lot of instances of this term in relation to cardiac patients but not an explanation or defintion! Thanks in advance for your help.
The text says deplectiu but I did find depletiu in termcat which said "Dit del mitjà terapèutic la finalitat del qual és disminuir la quantitat de líquid contingut en l'organisme" so the same as you suggested! I take it to mean diuretic. Thank you for helping!
Asker: Thank you, yes this must be the same thing. The story was pt stopped diuretics, got worse, came to hospital, so likely that they re-started diuretics. I did search for this term in the Catalan section, and if I had realised the spelling mistake would have looked in the Spanish one too!

Asker: Thank you Liz, that first reference is ideal as it says "tractament deplectiu amb furosemida", just what I needed!
