Catalan to English translations [PRO]
Catalan term or phrase: botigues ... del negoci de valors
What are "botigues" in this context, and why do they suddenly become "la botiga" in the next sentence?

"La finalitat de l’edifici és funcional: són vuit plantes destinades originàriament a pisos de lloguer, excepte la planta baixa que estava destinada a allotjar els magatzems, BOTIGUES i oficines del negoci de valors primer i tèxtil després. Els mobles de la BOTIGA es troben en fotografies a la Càtedra Gaudí."

I believe that the 'BOTIGUES' as with the 'magatzems' are completely separate from the 'oficines del negoci de valors' which I think may refer to 'real estate offices'. As for the use of 'la botiga' later on, I think that they are simply using the singular as we would use in English i.e. 'shop furniture' rather than the plural 'shops' furniture'.

agree  Martin Perazzo: I would do the same - use "shops" in the first case and then "shop furniture" in the second.
