Catalan term or phrase: taules de plegat de peces
I thought these were tables for folding pieces of cloth on, but the reference in the next clause to "l’altra part, més específica per a la indústria tèxtil" m'ha fet dubtar.

Explanation:
It sounds to me like these are tables for folding cloth too, Jon. Perhaps what the author meant is that these tables were not so specific that they could not be recycled and used for other purposes. Other pieces of furniture, more specifically designed for the textile industry might not have been so easy to recycle and were therefore given to the Boyer family. That is my interpretation of the text. Here are a few pictures of some of the furniture he designed for the Casa Calvet etc. in case they are of any use.

When I said these tables I meant to add that the office furniture etc. was also recycled. As we know, some benches are now used in a restaurant - making the tables very pretty! So, maybe this is what happened to these cloth-folding tables - they were used to make some boring chairs pretty somewhere else. Just an idea!

One last thought, maybe you are not talking about the Casa Calvet at all. In any case, I think the \'recycling\' or \'reusing\' idea could still be valid. Bona nit. Sheila
