strong growth potential Explanation: I guess here 经理 refers to fund managers (mutual fund managing firms), thus "two managers with strong potentials." Momentum is good too. Other expressions include "two vibrant managers,""two managers pick up momentum," etc. In a word, they are growing fast and there's a lot more room for growth. |

driven and motivated/ambitious Explanation: The term is not easily translated into English, simply because of the use of the language. Therefore, I am offering some more commonly used translations that might help you with this. Thank you for your time |

coming on/going like gangbusters Explanation: possible option from American slang: "the two managers are coming on like gangbusters" "like gangbusters" means "with great momentum, energy, force" Used with "going", "coming on", "growing", "selling", etc -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 hrs (2008-01-31 01:59:40 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- More of an established idiom (80 years?) (from American Heritage Dictionary 2000) "like gangbusters - With great impact, vigor, or zeal: came on like gangbusters at the start of his campaign; a career that took off like gangbusters." |
