I am not convinced that this is the best possible translation. However, for me it "works" better than those translations proposed by Timothy and Elizabeth, because:

1) It captures that feeling of "rosiness" which, regardless of its cause, is the single most important concept here;

2) According to other native Chinese with whom I've spoken, this phrase does NOT refer to a change in facial color due to emotion; rather, it refers strictly to the natural state of a woman's complexion.

This is synonomous with "beet red".
It depends how or why she was flushed. Was it a blush from embarrassment? Or was she red from passion? In which case "beet red" with flush is not appropriate, nor is blush (which implies a temporary red). Unless the embarrassment was deeply felt.

The color "red" does not have to be translated if the "condition" is described, which implies the color, in the target language.
