Chinese term or phrase:常 vs 常常
1st Attempt: School teachers often say that study never ends. So why is it so important that we must study now.
Question One: Does the character 常 mean the same as 常常? If so, is there some grammatical or stylistic explanation for the author's having preferred 常 over 常常 in this instance? If not, how do 常 and 常常 differ in meaning?
As I fear that I have misunderstood this sentence you are also very welcome to comment on my translation and offer one of your own. Please do not forget to answer the question, though.
