The retrievable final recording medium of the MER® does not have any mobile elements. Hence, there is no mechanical tear and wear and maintenance is limited.
Due to the fitting of an own micro controller the MER® is able to work automatically. It works in such a way that the MER® receives various data through standardized interfaces, but it transfers only selected data into the own memory.
The final recording medium of the MER® is mounted into a diving capsule – according to the IMO rules.
