Non-PRO Czech Art/Literary music/songs
This is a slow song, like a waltz, passed down through generations of my Czech ancestors. This is how I was taught to pronounce the song, although I have never seen it spelled out.

Dear Ruth,

seems to be a long time ago since your ancestors left the Bohemian countries ...
Interesting to see how the words changed.

I have to admit, I do not know the song my self. I would have to ask my Grannie ...

But, there is a group singing a song called "Ja jsem sirotek". These are also the first words of your part.

I have tried to decode your text and here is the result, I think probable enough:

Ja jsem sirotek, v Praze rozeny, otce nemam, matku nemam, jsem kurazeny.

In English:

I am an orphan, born in Prague, I have no father, I have no mother, I am courageous.

Only the last word was a bit more difficult, but I think it fits.

Your second question is much more difficult, I have to think over it.

Regards

Martina

agree Uwe Kirmse : I admire your phantasy! I've looked at the question and thought, that's no Czech, but you're right. (possibly "otce neznam" - I don't know my father.)
