Czech term or phrase: U_EPDL
In a Czech lab report, urine section, there are these two tests that I don't understand: "U_EPDL: 4; U_EPKU: 2;"

Does anyone know the meaning of U_EPDL? I think it may have to do with the epithelial cells.

I will ask EPKU in separate question.

Thanks,

Stephen

Simple Squamous Epithelium
Squamous means “scale-like”

flattened, irregularly shaped cells that are tightly packed
Viewed from the surface, tissue looks like a “tile floor” with a centrally placed bulging nucleus

Viewed in section, only some cells display nucleus because of plane of section
delicate lining supported by basement membrane (BM)
– – rarely thick enough to be detected by LM
