Dorland's medical dictionary - This dictionary calls this the Kaplan-Meuer survival curve and has a long explanation of this.

If you want to use "præparat", er det i medicinsk "specimen"

neutral  farmor: The Kaplan-Meier estimator (also known as the product limit estimator) estimates the survival function from life-time data. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaplan-Meier_estimator. Thanks, I found it only because you had done the initial foot work :-)
