Danish to English translations [Non-PRO]
Danish term or phrase: konsulentordning
film production support

(the "konsulent" in question is, I believe, a 'commissioning editor')

English translation:Contracting consultant
Explanation:

When I co-edited a film contract working many years ago for my uncle Volmer Blangsted in California, the choice was "consulting editor" that later was changed to "contracting consultant".

I guess it's your choice which one you believe will fit into your project. I didn't get enough information from you.
But I hope this helped.

The "konsulent" is indeed a consulting editor; 'commissioning editor' appears to be the term
in use in the Nordic and Canadian (I work for the Canadian government) sites I've consulted.
The "ordning" is a system under which such films are approved for funding through such "konsulenter".
My tentative rendering is 'commissioning arrangement' - but I don't much like it, and am wondering
whether there's another term out there being used to describe such a system in English.
Thanks for your input. I'm amazed at how many responses I got.

Explanation:
Hi christep,

I would use either of these words for 'ordning' - after the comissioning editor.
Or: consultant agreement/arrangement.

Explanation:
As so often, the translation depends on the context, of which you provide very little.

For instance, I was offered a konsulentordning when I left a company, and this was simply a consultant's contract.

But it could also mean that the two parties have entered into an agreement for consulting services/a consulting service agreement.

It could also be less formal, in which case you have a consulting/consultancy arrangement.

I hope this helps.
