Ja, så må man osse kunne sige 'choose between the devil and the deep blue sea'. Vinterberg & Bodelsen (1994) har faktisk 'choose between two evils' under opslagsordet 'vælge'.

Hobson's choice

Explanation:
Hej Mads

Derudover foreslås for "at skulle vælge mellem pest eller kolera" be between the devil and the deep blue sea; be between a rock and a hard place; be between Scylla and Charybdis.

Tusind tak for forslagene.

  -> Why not?

agree  Christine Andersen: What's wrong with between a rock and a hard place? Depending on context...

  -> Also my thought...

agree  Katja Helmich: I also think that between a rock and a hard place is the most commoly used phrase.
