Hopefully my last question...

In a discussion on problems encountered in truck maintenance due to the nature of the work.

Wij lopen tegen heel andere problemen aan dan een gewone vervoerder. Wij hebben bijvoorbeeld een onevenredig hoog gehalte ‘stop and go’-werk. Dat zien we terug in de ***standtijd van de remblokken*** en bijvoorbeeld de levensduur van de compressor.

I note various translations for standtijd in the glossaries. I don't know what would be the correct one here - I am already proposing to use 'service life' for levensduur.

Many thanks.

agree  Ken Cox: could also be 'replacement interval' in this case

-> Thanks the term 'useful life' is used quite a lot for parts that are intended to wear out

agree  Dave Calderhead: and with Ken, although it all boils down to the same thing in this context
