acaricide of mijtendodend Explanation: Hallo, je context is me niet helemaal duidelijk maar "mites" hebben voor zover ik weet niets met bacteriƫn te maken. Een "mite" is in het Nederlands een "mijt" en de middelen die hiertegen werkzaam zijn heten "acariciden" of "mijtendodende middelen". Ik hoop dat dit is wat je zocht :) Carla T. mijtendodend middel Explanation: Ha, ik vond toch nog ergens je context (heb je je vraag twee keer ingezonden?). Het gaat om huismijten of stofmijten; deze beestjes zijn geen bacteriƫn maar behoren tot de spinachtigen. Veel mensen zijn hiervoor allergisch en zij kunnen hun matras (en de rest van de stoffering in huis) met een mijtendodend middel behandelen. Carla |

mite repellent, acaricide Explanation: Actually, anti-mite definitely refers to "mijten" (huis- or stofmijten), which is something entirely different then "motten". In matresses, mite-repellents or acaricides are used to reduce or remove mites and their fecal matter, which often lead to allergies, especially in asthmatic individuals. So moth-repellent is definitely NOT a good translation! |

mite repellent, acaricide Explanation: I'm afraid that I have to agree with Havona, that Carla's answer is correct and deserves the kudoz. It is a weak point of the kudoz system, that the person who publicly anounces not to know the answer, is the one to award the points! Many times I see the kudoz awarded to incorrect or only half correct answers. |
