Dutch term or phrase: in functie van de netimpendantie
Context:

I am currently translating a Technical Specification document for static UPS systems (alternating current network supply system), and am having problems with the following sentence:

"De leverancier moet in zijn aanbieding alle noodzakelijke technische gegevens verstrekken die moeten toelaten de invloed van de gelijkrichter in functie van de netimpedantie te berekenen".

Any suggestions welcome!

Thanks,

Pikey

Explanation:
Hi -- I assume that what you're having problems with is 'in functie van'. This is apparently a specifically Belgian usage; I've seen it a couple of times. Van Dale is, sadly enough, quiet on this subject. As far as I can tell, it means rougly what it suggests in literal translation: 'as a function of'. Thus here I would translate the sentence as 'The bidder ... must provide all the technical data necessary to allow the influence of the rectifier to be calculated as a function of the mains (line) impedance.' What this all means in simple terms is that the rectifier forms a load on the mains, and the extent to which affects the mains voltage depends on the relative impedances of the mains circuit and the rectifier.
