Explanation:
fluateren = treat with a salt of hydrogen hexafluorasilicate (see ref 1, which may be a useful glossary) -- your guess is a good as mine what it is in English (if there even is an equivalent)

aanstralen = sandblast (the 'metallisch fijn scherpkantig straalmidel' is a giveaway) -- 'sandblast' can be used more or less generically, even if the abrasive is not sand, but if you want to be hyperprecise, then something like 'blast with a pressurised stream of fine metallic sharp-edged particles' is a possibility.

Thanks again (glad you weren't away this week Ken!!). I'm afraid that by the time I got to the 5000th word of this spec nothing was a give-away - the phrase sandblasting might have eluded me forever :-)!
