Net als de advokaten, en andere universitaire titels, bestaat er een Orde van Geneesheren, College van Apothekers, Balie van Advokaten, om het beroep als dusdanig uit te oefenen. Immers, velen met het dip0loma, werken in de industrie of in verzekerings- en andere maatschappijen, en kunnen bv geen voorschriften uitvoeren of voor de rechtbank optreden, enz.
