Dutch term or phrase: LArLt - Langtijdgemiddeld beoordelingsniveau

Long-term average..
Explanation:
Long-term (or longitudinal) average noise levels, e.g.

"This means that it is not possible to say with confidence what the noise level will be at any particular point at any instant in time, but where the noise sources are well-defined, such as road or rail traffic, or aircraft, then it is possible to say with some confidence what the long-term average noise level will be. "

"Assessment level(s)" would be the literal translation

Thank you, gentlemen. I wasn't too sure whether or not this was originally an English abbrev.

agree  Jack den Haan: I get the impression thant LArLT is not really an acronym, but a variable used in calculating noise levels and/or ratings. I think 'long-term average assessment level' would be a fair "translation". PS: It also appears as 'LAr,LT'.

agree  Ken Cox: With Jack -- it's hard to imagine how this abbreviation couild be derived from the Dutch term. It has probably been borrowed from English (the document with 'LAr,LT'mentioned by Jack is unfortunatey no longer avaialable).
