Dutch term or phrase: bodemrechter
Context: Dutch Law: summons
Paragraph:

Okay, sorry maybe I was a bit hasty in declining the answer. I had hoped to get a more specific translation for this judge, but i guess 'court' has to do. Thanx for the solution and the remarks ;)

agree  xxxjarry: wouldn't that simply be 'the court seized of the case'?

-> could be-but is already declined. seems Asker doesn't know what it is, but does know what it isn't.....

agree  Chris Hopley: I would take task with the legal idiom of Jurlex in his 2nd example, but this is definitely the right answer. Asker was too hasty in declining it. Jarry's option is probably even better IMO.

-> it's already declined? how nice........

agree  AllisonK: what's wrong with 'judge presiding in the court hearing the main action' if it MUST be a person....
2 hrs
-> don't be so logical-is probably a soil judge, dirt judge, floor judge, bottom-of-the-barrel judge
