Marketing
Dutch term or phrase: eBusiness
Is this the same as eCommerce, or is there a difference between the two?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

English translation:see below
Explanation:
Even though the 2 terms are sometimes used interchangeably, there is a difference.
eBusiness is when a company decides to fully embrace the opportunity of the Internet and completely transforms its business model.
This is not the case with eCommerce, where the business model may remain the same, but the Internet is used for commercial purposes.

eBusiness/eCommerce

Explanation:
As far as I am concerend they mean the same thing except that eBusiness can be used as a noun for a specific type of company. I can't find any evidence to the contrary, in any case!

E-Business = sometimes E-Commerce

Explanation:
e-Business is often e-commerce, but e-commerce is not always e-business. The latter is more specific (compare business to commerce, the same applies as with the initial "e" for electronic). You might try a search at CNN.com or EBusiness.com or EWorld.com. Below you find a recent article which uses both terms. It rather depends on the context which term should be used, and then not everyone is always consistent.

eBusiness

Explanation:
I'd go with LAURA G., but would add that eCommerce can de divided into B2B (business-to-business) & B2C (business- to-consumer); there's even a 'category' of business-to-academics-to-consumers, etc
