Dutch term or phrase: raakvlak
Hello colleagues, this is a translation about a finding a suitable product:

Het product zal raakvlakken met deze omgeving hebben.

The product must be able to interface with this environment.

I wonder if this is a good translation.

thanks,
Marijke

Explanation:
without knowing more of the context, I suppose what they mean is that the product (what kind of product?) will have certain things in common with the environment

Thank you all very much indeed for responding at the late hour! I thought all your entries were valid, including the common ground one (which incidentally absolutely did not deserve the out-of-place comment of nonsense) although 'relate to' proved to be the simplest in this phrase: The product must relate to this environment. Perhaps just a little weaker than the original source text, but I find it clear as it reads well.
As to the products, this is just the crux of the matter, as students need to find out what it is the customer wants, therefore I don't know either!
Thanks again! Marijke Mayer

The product will find a common ground in this environment.

Explanation:
Afhankelijk van de precieze context lijkt me dit een mooie algemene vertaling.

Veel succes.

product and this environment.

Or: The product and this environment will have common features.

The right wording will largely depend on what went before and what comes after this sentence.
