Dutch term or phrase: in de schoot van
"XXX fonds is een bedrijfsfonds "ter bevordering van de duurzame ontwikkeling in ontwikkelingslanden" opgericht door XXX in de schoot van het XXXX stichting (liefdadigheidsorganisatie)"

Het gaat hier om een fonds dat een liefdadigheidsinstelling ondersteunt en dat is ontwikkeld gedurende een samenwerking met een nationale liefdadigheidsorganisatie. - Ik hoop dat dit duidelijk is!
Past "conceived in the womb" hier?

under the auspices of
Explanation:
van Dale gives 'in the bosem of' as a general figurative translation, but I wonder if 'under the auspices of' would work here -- it would depend on the specific organisational relationship between the foundation and the fund (and I suggest waiting for further input from a native speaker).

My understanding of the meaning of \'under the auspices of\' is \'with the help, support, or protection of\' as given by the Oxoford dico.

-> thanks; a more elegant option

agree  Lawyer-Linguist: yep "onder de bescherming van" is probably as close as one will get literally in DU and so auspices or aegis work perfectly IMO
