Het gaat over een dierenopvangcentrum en de zin luidt "In nog geen twee jaar tijd groeide het aantal afstandsdieren uit tot 63 en zagen wij ons genoodzaakt uit te kijken naar een ruimer onderkomen".
Er wordt bedoeld 'dieren die door mensen worden afgestaan'

  -> Hi Chris, many unwanted animals originate from so called animal farms, "kinderboerderijen" who rely heavily on contributions from the public, that are not always forthcoming, forcing them to give up the animals. Sad!
