Dutch to English translations [PRO]
Dutch term or phrase:Educational abbreviations
The following abbreviations all appear on a CV:
I know there aren't real English equivalents, but I could do with knowing what the initials stand for (is the stand-alone B a grade, for example?) and what a good translation solution would be. I know there is an educational glossary available, but I very rarely do CVs, so help now would be appreciated.
Thank you for your comprehensive answer. Thank you to the other respondent too, unfortunately I needed to know about the WTB, as it was pretty essential to the job he was applying for. 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer
HTS -hogere technische school - institute of technology
Explanation: MULO - meer uitgebreid lagere onderwijs - advanced elementary education (forerunner of MAVO)
HBS Hogere Burgers School, (former 12-18 secondary school, no longer exists).
B means the science/technology stream (as opposed to A - arts or liberal arts)
HTI - Hogere technische instituut?
I cannot find WTB - could it be something like "wet op de" or "wetenschapelijk" technische beroepen?
