Personeel en organisatie Explanation: I recently did a translation for a Dutch municipality. Their HR dept. is called Personeel en organisatie. That is the standard name. They probably changed Personeel into HR for a chic touch. If you need help with the tasks they perform, I have a glossary including : ontwikkeling P&O-beleid, personeels- en salarisadministratie, etc.(some 11 functions) Just call out. Hope it helps ! |

Human Resources & Operations Explanation: This translation is given in the reference below and corresponds to the canonical meaning of the abbreviation. Thus, no translation is needed since it's already in English. Quote from the cites reference page: De afdeling Human Resources & Operations bestaat momenteel uit circa 12 medewerkers. Reference: http://www.oracle.nl/werk/vac_assistant_hro.html |

HR manager Explanation: The "O" = organisatie. One also sees "P&O" - not a shipping line (!) but "personeel en organisatie". Really, the "O" adds very little to the concept, and the equivalent English job title is simply "human resources manager".. |
