agree  Tina Vonhof: I would say 'student finance plan'.

neutral  Bryan Crumpler: thanks for the comment... had to do more research...this is part of a set of employee benefits & is b/w employer and employee; not b/w student & university. If this is what the benefit s called in the UK, thumbs up. If not, thumbs down. Hence, "neutral"

-> Could also be a finance plan taken out by parents to put their offspring through university, or an agreement between employer and employee for a long-term course of study, etc. Without much context to go on, I chose an 'all things to all men' translation.

Tuition Reimbursement (Benefit)

The "studiekostenregeling" is meant to clearly delineate the end goals, academic performance requirements, rights, demands, and responsibilities as related to education, personal growth and training within an organization.

Contrary to what I originally proposed ("tuition adjustment") the "studiekostenregeling" has nothing to do with the actual educational institution itself. It's actually an arrangement between a company and it's employees to pay (in whole or in part) for their expenses should they choose to return to school part or full time to futher their education for the _specific_ benefit of the company. THis is what's called a "perk" or an employee "benefit". Lots of companies have medical/dental benefits, discount benefits (for retail stores etc)... It's basically a subpart of your contract with the company. THis in essence means that your company invests in your capability to gain more knowledge that would help the company, per se, develop better products or better medicines, or provide better services to its customers. IT companies such as SAS, Cisco & Microsoft do this quite often as a means of training good longstanding employees rather than looking for new more-skilled ones.

Human Resources departments (in the United States at least) call this a "Tuition Reimbursement Benefit" or simply "Tuition Reimbursement". This is accoring to my sister-in-law who has worked in Human Resources for 5 years with IBM.

In the 2nd reference see 2nd paragraph.
