Dutch to English translations [PRO]
Dutch term or phrase:inhoudelijk
adjective used in two contexts in a description of women in the trade union movement in the netherlands in the 1970's. firstly the women achieved "inhoudelijk resultaten" at the union congress but this was overshadowed by the confrontational atmosphere of the congress. something therefore had to be done to change the structure of the union movement, this is what the women went on to discuss amongst themselves rather than the "inhoudelijke thema's" such as abotion or sexism. i think the term is the antonym of structural but having looked in sociological dictionaries etc i can't find it.
Explanation: For what it's worth (since you have already chosen a winner), I would translate 'inhoudelijke resultaten' as 'meaninful results' and 'inhoudelijke thema's' as 'important themes' or 'important issues'.
