Dutch to English translations [Non-PRO]
Dutch term or phrase: verliefd
In a letter from a friend.
Jan
enamoured/in love/amorous etc
Explanation:
Several possibilities depending on what you want to say:

Ik ben verliefd op = 'I'm in love with'
but you could also be referring to a 'love-sick youth' (een smachtend verliefde jongeman) or you could be 'love-lorn' (hopeloos verliefd) or you could be 'infatuated with' (dwaas verliefd zijn op).

Since it's in a letter I guess it plainly means: ...in love with...(sweet on..., gone on..., enamoured of...).

No references needed. Should be in any dictionary, as in Wolters' Woordenboek Nederlands-Engels.
