There is no real context to this, in the sense that A is saying 'sorry you've had a rough time of it' and then says 'daar zullen wij het dan maar ophouden' and then goes on to say,'hope something can be done about your complaint and follows it with 'daar houden wij het dan ook maar op'.

Leave it there/leave it at that/give up? Not sure. No idea what A is talking about.

Normally I would be inclined to render this phrase with 'Let's leave it at that.' For the first occurence, I would leave it like this. However, the meaning of the second occurence you quote seems to differ slightly from this, and I would be inclined to render the second time with 'Well, let's hope so.'
