Dutch to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering / process line
Dutch term or phrase:omschakelen
"Is snijstation 1 ingeschakeld, dan wordt de werking van snijstation 2 omgeschakeld."
Presumably, this means that if station 2 was already on, then it will be switched off and if it was already off, it will be switched on.
In my draft, I've got "station 2 will be switched on or off, respectively", but I'm not particularly happy with this. What's the best way to say omgeschakeld in English? All help gratefully accepted!
I think I may have been unclear: my problem is not so much with whether to use engage or switch, but how to translate omschakelen when the immediate context also includes the words inschakelen and uitschakelen. I.e.: if inschakelen is engage and uitschakelen is disengage, what is omschakelen?
