Dutch term or phrase: overbobijnen, platweefsels
The article concerns fabric weaving. Bobijnen is spooling, but what is 'overbobijnen'?
Also, what are 'platweefsels'? ...van chemische en mechanische behandelingen op platweefsels, tapijten en velours.
Lucy Simpson
English translation:upper bobbins, flat fabrics
Explanation:
1. Without seeing the entire sentence, I took bobijnen as a plural noun; overbobijnen would be the upper bobbins in the loom, as distinct from the onderbobijnen.
2. Tapijten and velours are both sculptured fabrics, that is, there are variations in thickness. Platweefsels are a whole variety of fabrics -- cotton, wool, silk, man-made fabrics -- that are all of one thickness.
