Dutch to German translations [Non-PRO]
Dutch term or phrase: diamanten afkoken
diamanten moet men afkoken voor ze onderzocht worden
One needs to boil Diamond potatoes till they are crumbly before they can be examined
Explanation: 'Diamanten' = Diamond potatoes (it's a specific type of potato, grown in Holland by Dutch farmers)
'voordat' = before ('voor' in the Dutch sentence that you gave is not correct, it might make clear what they mean, but it's incorrect use of Dutch)
'koken' = 'boil'
'Afkoken' however = boiling potatoes till they are crumbly
'One needs to boil Diamond potatoes till they are crumbly before they can be examined' = 'Diamanten moet men afkoken voordat ze onderzocht kunnen worden'
I'm Dutch and like crumbly boiled Diamond potatoes :)
