The American Heritage Dictionary gives three different definitions for the word “consumerism”:

1. The movement seeking to protect and inform consumers by requiring such practices as honest packaging and advertising, product guarantees, and improved safety standards.

2. The theory that a progressively greater consumption of goods is economically beneficial.

3. Attachment to materialistic values or possessions.

Both of your postings focus on the first definition. If a three-word phrase is sufficient for your translation needs, then I would recommend Raghad’s suggestion (HARAKAT HIMAYAT AL-MUSTAHLIK).

But if you are posting this question specifically in hope of receiving one-word suggestions, then I would suggest AL-MUSTAHLIKIYYA

It is essential to set it clearly apart from AL-ISTIHLAKIYYA, which would fit definition 2 above, which is the very opposite of definition 1.
