English term

even if crims don’t come unstuck, you get a good laugh out of it

Non-PRO English to Chinese Art/Literary
“My patented method,” Mercer corrected him. “Sling a rock at a wasps’ nest, run for your life, wait to see who gets stung. It generally works. Never a waster of time——even if crims don’t come unstuck, you get a good laugh out of it.”

有场好戏看

“这一招屡试不爽,绝不会白费功夫。即使不能让这些罪犯完蛋,你也会有一场好戏看。”

要是违反着没有被完蛋了的话,还是挺好笑.

Doubts

1.patented adj.:Characteristic of, unique to, or originated by a particular person or group:
Throughout the campaign, the candidate refuted his rival's criticisms with a series of patented responses.(金山糍粑)

"Patented method" may be translated as "独门绝活" "拿手好戏" or something similar but better (whether it is 屡试不爽 i am not sure).

2.The biggest problem is that the sentence does not make any sense as a whole. It is impossible to have a wasps’ nest available whenever there is a criminal, unless "wasps' nest" has a metaphorical meaning. If there's such meaning(s), it's our task to convey for the target text readers.
(Note this part: "wait to see who gets stung", it seems the person who is get stung is uncertain too)

More context is needed.

Insert a \"to\" between \"is\" and \"get\" in my last but one line:)
