English to Croatian translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Textiles / Clothing / Fashion / wool yarn production
English term or phrase: intimate blends
Only one non-wool component is allowed in the singles yarn in which make up a folded blend yarn or a blend fabric. In this way we can be reasonably certain the product is made from new wool. Allowing multi-component intimate
blends in singles yarns would make it more difficult to reject recycled wool products, which usually contain traces of several non-wool fibres. Wool and polyester fibres in a singles yarn form an intimate blend. Pure polyester singles yarn folded with a pure wool singles yarn is not an intimate blend. Likewise pure polyester yarns woven with pure wool yarns in the same fabric is also not an intimate blend.

DIRECTIVE 96/73/EC OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 16 December 1996 on certain methods for the quantitative analysis of binary textile fibre mixtures
---
The method of manual separation should be used whenever possible since it generally gives more accurate results than the chemical method. It can be used for all textiles whose component fibres do not form an intimate mixture, as for example in the case of yarns composed of several elements each of which is made up of only one type of fibre, or fabrics in which the fibre of the warp is of a different kind to that of the weft, or knitted fabrics capable of being unravelled made up of yarns of different types.
---
II.1. Field of application
This method is applicable to textile fibres of all types provided they do not form an intimate mixture and that it is possible to separate them by hand.

---

What does Intimate Blend Yarn mean?
A type of yarn comprised of various fibers being blended together. The purpose of the blend is to incorporate the properties and characteristics of various fibers into a mixed fiber.
---
Intimate blend yarn refers to yarn created from two or more types of fibers. If done well, the good qualities of the two fibers are enhanced while the weaker qualities are minimized. For example, a blend of cotton and polyester will have both the comfort of cotton and wrinkle-resistance of polyester. Other common blends include wool/cotton, ramie/polyester, silk/wool, rayon/cotton, and nylon/acetate.

Jefferson Linen is made from yarn that is an intimate blend of linen and viscose. The linen gives the cloth a crisp hand, while the viscose adds a soft drape.
Mi bismo rekli: mješavina lana i viskoze
