"The delivery of a product exhibiting design non-conformities is subject to prior agreement formalized by a Derogation/Waiver Request.
Potential reasons to ask for a derogation are specifications not achievable by the supplier. Below some examples:
· procurement difficulties on getting the correct raw material;
· treatment substitution due to lack of local suppliers availability;
· tight tolerances, special treatments, special materials;
· Sidel drawing errors or missing/misleading specification.

Potential reasons to ask for a waiver are manufacturing errors:
· non-conformity due to the Supplier manufacturing / handling process;
· delivery of the old major index in stock."
