English term or phrase: tapered
Context is insulation boards. The word "tapered" is a headline above dimensions and thickness.

Also, it says:
Thickness
30 mm – 130 mm per 20 mm of per 25 mm
30 mm – 120 mm per 10 mm of per 15 mm

Can anyone explain what this means?

Hej Susanne

På et fly siger man, at vingerne er "tapered", når de ikke er parallelle. Altså når de spidser ind ud mod vingetipperne. Hvilket også er den mest almindelige vingeform.

Hvad angår tykkelsesangivelserne, kan de referere til graden af tilspidsning. F.eks. hvor meget isoleringspladen bliver tyndere, i forhold til hvor langt ude du er på den plade. Men her ville et billede gøre underværker.

Dette her: 30 mm – 130 mm per 20 mm of per 25 mm, kunne tænkes at betyde, at for hver 20 mm du går "ud" på isoleringspladen, bliver den 25 mm tykkere. Startende med en tykkelse på 30 mm og op 130 mm.

Blot et gæt ;-)

The original text was erroneous - "20 mm of per 25 mm" should have read "20 mm or per 25 mm". Which made much more sense! So I translated this bit quite literally.

Example sentence(s):
  • Keeping in mind that the wing is tapered because the bending moment experienced is largest at the wing root and that the goal is to have a wing of the necessary area but of minimum weight.
