I have already seen discussion on "stealth" on the ProZ web suite. There it is mostly concerned with the original implementation of the word in the English language; and that was to do with military aircraft and naval vessels (undetectable by radar).
The word has insinuated its way into all levels of our language now ... from business to social issues to political action.
I am asking Dutch native speakers who are fluent and au courant in English to offer some suggestion and opinion for the Dutch equivalent. I have checked my Van Dale. I have scoured the Web. I have looked at discussion on ProZ. And I find nothing that satisfies me.
Here are some examples of the context:
"Thanks to new stealth tactics, anti-abortionists are having an undue influence on policy."
"We will have to employ stealth tactics to get the plastics industry to stop polluting the marine environment."

: Mee eens. Afhankelijk van de context kan 'stiekem', 'versluierd', 'geheim' of een ander alternatief beter bekken. Maar 'heimelijk' past eigenlijk altijd wel, denk ik.

Door de tactiek 'onder valse vlag varen' toe te passen werden bij schermutselingen op zee schepen overvallen. Voor mijn gevoel geeft dit gezegde precies aan wat er in deze situaties de kern is van de zaak. Door het verhullen van de eigen identiteit, de wolf in schaapskleding te zijn en zo heimelijk overwicht te krijgen.
