The stronger thoughts of status are in a person, the more they will have to be dealt with and the greater the refinement they must go
through;

My station in life, or status, was something I could never let go of, and when God created an environment that exposed me, I was only negative, complaining, and despairing.
Only through refinement after refinement did I come to understand God’s good intentions, and that His testing of me was not to torment me.

Looking at God’s words, thinking of refinement after refinement that came upon me, I finally understood God’s kind intentions, and could taste God’s great love and salvation. Although I was arrogant and ignorant and had no understanding of God’s heart, He created an environment to test me time after time, forcing me, amidst the pain of being refined, to recognize my own corruption, my own arrogance and unreasonableness, and that my desire for status was too great.

Your trials and refinements of me are a great protection and salvation for me.

Under God’s enlightenment and guidance, I started to reflect on my own behavior: God is now expressing His words to judge man, and cleansing things from man that are incompatible with Him through suffering and refinement. But in the face of God’s chastisement and judgment, suffering and refinement, I am always trying to escape, hoping that God will quickly move these situations away.

A sister and I were paired up to revise articles together. As we were meeting, I realized that it didn’t matter whether it was singing, dancing, receiving God’s word, or communicating truth, she was better than me in each aspect. The brothers and sisters of the host family all liked her and would talk with her. Because of this, my heart was quite unsettled and I felt like I had received the cold shoulder—even to the point of thinking that as long as she was there, there was no place for me. In my heart I began to feel fed up with her and unwilling to accompany her in fulfilling our duties. I hoped that she would leave so that the brothers and sisters would like me and think highly of me.

One day, a leader came to us. The sister had requested to be transferred to different duties because of emotional refinement she was going through that was making her state negative. Upon hearing her say this, I became extremely excited. I thought: I had always hoped that you would go. If you go, then I will be out of my predicament. Therefore, I was eager for the leader to immediately give her another assignment. However, things backfired on me and the leader not only didn’t give her a new assignment, but she patiently communicated truth with her and helped her change her situation. When I saw this, I felt especially anxious, and hoped even more the sister would leave. I thought: When will I be able to be out of this predicament if she doesn’t leave this time? No, I have to think of a way to quickly make her leave. Consequently, I took the opportunity when the sister was not present to give the leader further details, saying: “She usually has emotional refinement that inhibits her from focusing on revising articles. Now she has lost the work of the Holy Spirit and is not able to revise the articles. It has already affected the church’s work of editing and compiling articles. You might as well give her a new assignment. Sister X is better at writing articles, you could choose her to revise the articles. She might have better cultivating value than the sister I am paired with.” As soon as I had finished saying this, the word of God came into me reproaching me: “Cruel, brutal mankind!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I also recognized that when people are no longer constrained by their future destiny and are able to live for God, the work of conquest on them will bear fruit. However, when I was working as a leader, I wasn’t putting my effort into pursuing the truth; I was always ruled
by thoughts of my future destiny. Because of this, I would often undergo refinement to the point that I became negative, and this was not only a loss within my own life, but it also damaged my work in the house of God.
God’s design to refine. Christianity 103 Message 18 Part 3
Do you let His Work have its way in your life? As you contemplate your answer make sure you are including the trials of life that come. As believers we face many battles in this war of the flesh against the Spirit. While we have an enemy that seeks to destroy us we also have a God who desires to refine us. One provides you with what you think you need while the other seeks to develop often what you didn’t know you needed. Experience has taught me that the work that God does in my life is exactly what I have needed. It always bears witness with my heart that God loves me but refuses to leave me where He found me. The fire of change, that fire that refines us gets really hot at times. In fact it can be so intense at times that you may have asked yourself, why face it? Why endure it? Do you know what the right answer is to those questions?
Had je de context dan nog niet gelezen?
In welk kader doe je deze opdracht?
Weet je meer over de achtergrond van de tekst?
Het lijkt erop dat het een en ander zich in China afspeelt.
Is jouw tekst een vertaling uit het Chinees?
Het onderwerp is eigenlijk religie, niet psychologie.
Binnen de religie gaat het dan om het christendom en binnen het christendom gaat het dan om een religieus leven/kloosterleven.
Ben benieuwd wat je zelf denkt over refinement in het kader van deze specifieke tekst.
'refinement' in your text seems related to this:
Being Refined in Christ
Tested…be found, refers to a "crucible" for the refining of precious metals resulting in the quality refinement brings. Testing is compared to sufferings as a "crucible" which is a container made from a refractory substance such as graphite or porcelain, used for melting and purifying precious metals (such as gold) at high temperatures to separate impurities so to produce a finer and more valuable material, such as 14 carat gold made into 24 carat gold. We are purified and refined when we go through the effects and substances of life. They have a purpose; nothing happens to us without a reason that is meant to teach and grow us (Job 23:10; Psalm 12:6; Prov. 17:3; Isa. 43:2; Jer. 11:4; 1 Cor. 4:3-5; 1 Pet. 1:5; 4:13; 5:1).
We can take comfort in trials, as God is still sovereign over them. His purpose is to refine us, form us, mold us, improve us, restore us, grow us, and strengthen us.
2 hits op biblehub voor refinement
In NET Bible /Daniël 11:35
Even some of the wise will stumble, resulting in their refinement, purification, and cleansing until the time of the end, for it is still for the appointed time.
Nieuwe Bijbelvertaling
Maar ook sommige van de verlichten komen ten val; mogen zij worden gelouterd, gereinigd en gezuiverd tot de eindtijd, want de vastgestelde tijd is nog niet aangebroken.
Several Bible versions / Deuterononium 28:56:
The refined and delicate woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground for delicateness and refinement, shall be hostile toward the husband she cherishes and toward her son and daughter,
...zo verfijnd dat ze nooit een voet op de grond heeft hoeven zetten...
Duidelijk een andere betekenis van 'refinement' bij deze tweede optie, meer een toestand dan een proces.
Anyway, 'biblehub' is een geweldig hulpmiddel bij dit soort vertalingen.
The word of the Lord is tried Psalm 18:30
How do the rabbis draw this conclusion? They focus on the Hebrew word tsaraph (in this verse translated “tried”). It means “to test, to purify and to refine,” as a silversmith would refine his metal. From this practical application, they conclude that God’s Word is the medium by which we are refined, and, of course, the way that His Word refines us is in the way that we are instructed to live by it. Therefore, as we conform our lives to His Word, we ourselves are refined as human beings. We emerge as pure silver. That, my friends, is a joyful state of being.
Asker: Bedankt voor de artikels, ik ga de context eens lezen.
Asker: Mijn eigen context wel maar ik bedoelde de artikels die jij mij gestuurd hebt. Het is idd een opdracht van een Chinees Christelijke gemeenschap. Ik heb een tekst in de bijbel gevonden Zach. 13:9 En Ik zal dat derde deel in het vuur brengen, en Ik zal het louteren, gelijk men zilver loutert (This third I will put into the fire; I will refine them like silver, in het Engels) Volgens mij dus louteren in deze context. Bedankt voor je hulp! Hoe wist je trouwens dat het vanuit het Chinees kwam?
Asker: Dat is inderdaad de tekst waar het uitkomt. Jealousy.
Asker: Super bedankt voor alle informatie!
