English term or phrase: drawer
Motor Starter Type - Full-voltage non-reversing starter
The typical full-voltage non-reversing starter type is a full voltage or across the line non-reversing starter. Before the motor can be turned ON the **drawer** ready switch must be active.
If the drawer supervision is enabled, as shown below the **drawer** supervision hardwire input must switch” the following must be done:...

Il s agit de la documentation technique d un système industriel de contrôle moteur. On y trouve le mot **drawer**, je n'arrive pas à déterminer son sens. Pourriez-vous m'aider? Merci beaucoup.

gate valve

A valve controlling fluid flow by a flat plate having linear motion across the flow channel.
The outflow valve is a thrust recovery rotating gate valve which is driven by either a rotary DC electrical actuator or a rotary AC electrical actuator.

A system, in certain embodiments, includes a gate valve (38) including a gate disposed within a valve body (40). The gate valve also includes a motorized ball screw actuator (48) having an actuating rod assembly (80) directly coupled to the gate. The motorized ball screw actuator is configured to linearly actuate the actuating rod assembly to drive the gate (68) between an open position and a closed position

Stem: ascending or neascendenta, operated in different ways
Drawer: fixed or expandable

A rectangular gate valve having an improved driving action is disclosed. The rectangular gate valve of the present invention includes a sealing member, which opens or closes a wafer moving passage, a main shaft, which is coupled to the sealing member and has a guide member, and a housing bracket, which has a first guide slot, into which the guide member is inserted. The gate valve further includes a valve drive unit, which is provided in the housing bracket and has an air cylinder, a piston, a piston shaft, a moving unit and a connection link.

I conclude from this that the "drawer" is identical to the valve shaft and hence refers to the gate valve.

neutral  Tony M: Much too much of an assumption, based on so little context, to justify a C/L of 4. None of your refs. actually make any link between 'drawer' and 'gate valve'

Credit is entirely due to Herbie, who found this link for us:

The text is bilingual and the two terms can be found together first on page 23 of the PDF file.

Note that Schnedier translations are usually pretty authoritative, and being a French company, it is safe to assume that the FR version is probably the original one and not a translation from the EN

i suppose it makes sense, when you get into this heavy-duty equipment, the system needs to make sure the 'drawer' is plugged in and ready to go before attempting to start the motor.

As Herbie says, it is clearly referring to an MCC.
